At a recent cocktail event at her Chicago store, Nicole Miller summed up the entire city's fashion in one word: black. When it comes to fancy, gala events, Miller said Chicagoans "wear a lot less color than in New York, but it’s more avant-garde", mentioning that us midwesterners prefer something "black and cool" to a plain old LBD.
