Dixie Square Mall, once hailed as the "mall of the future", is now desolate, barren and set to be the subject of an upcoming flick. Filmmaker and U of C graduate Brett Tracy is raising funds to shoot a documentary covering the mall's 13 good years, before it turned into the abandoned mess of a dead mall that it is today. Stop by for a good look at what the mall was like in the '60s (shiny!) and compared to now (a terrifying suburban swamp). [Chicagoist]
