Say Hello To Racked Chicago, Your New Shopping Partner-In-Crime

New, 3 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

To the lunch break bargain hunters, sale-obsessed shoppers and curious fashionistas of Chicago: your world is about to change. Welcome to the kickoff of Racked Chicago.

If you're as obsessed with great sales, street style photogs, pop-up shops, and the like, perhaps you've visited our sister sites Racked NY, Racked LA or Racked National. Starting today, we're bringing the free-flowing news directly to the Windy City. Our town is full of fantastic clothes, ridiculous deals and unbelievable events, and you're about to be brought into the loop (heh) for all of it more than ever before. So, whether something new opening in Pilsen, closing in Bucktown or having a go-right-this-second-before-they-sell-out sale in Lincoln Park, Racked Chicago aims to serve as your partner in shopping intelligence. (To get going on the sales excitement, we direct your attention to the Dealfeed embedded a bit further down this blog.)

Chicago native Carlye Wisel is the site's editor (hello there), but to make this work, we're going to need your help. Stumbled across a great sale, spotted a new store readying to open, or eager tell us how much you hate shopping on Michigan Avenue? The tipline, chicago@racked.com, wants to hear from you.

Finally, we invite you to drop by the two other new sites we're launching today: Curbed Chicago, for neighborhood and real estate obsessives, and Eater Chicago, for up-to-the-second restaurant and nightlife news. This will be fun.
