It's time to get excited for some sparkly new accessories: Alexis Bittar has finalized plans to open a new store in our jewelry-adorned neck of the woods.
Set to take over Gem Jewelry Boutique's current space as the shop heads back to Oak Park, Bittar's Bucktown outpost will be supplying locals with a flood of lucite bangles and detailed earrings for quite a while. The designer, who fell so in love with Chicago's "refreshingly earnest people" that he's halfway considered moving here, signed a ten year lease for the 1710 N. Damen Avenue location.
Down the street from Marc by Marc Jacobs's cheap, bizarro accessories, the two together will form a unique jewelry powerhouse that'll dress up any plain Jane outfit. Even if it'll be hidden beneath your feather-filled coat 'til Spring.
