Though Nokia announced late last year that it would be closing down its Chicago flagship store on Michigan Avenue in 2010, no date was ever formally announced. So it came as a surprise to many that the Nokia store unceremoniously shuttered its doors this weekend—with little fanfare, liquidation, or notice. The cell phone company officially shuttered its New York location earlier this year. Nokia now has no standalone retail presence in the United States.
