Traveling sample sale Re.Stock has finally found a nice raw space and settled down in the West Loop. Sort of.
Proprietor Julie LaBarge spent the past year and a half lugging a colossal inventory of off-price women’s and men’s apparel and accessories, popping up and setting up shop on a weekend basis in such neighborhoods as Lincoln Park, Lakeview, and River North. She has now signed a short-term lease in the condo-heavy West Loop area—a mere stone’s throw away from the Oprah compound, Harpo Studios. Featuring more than 40 big-name and local designers in the mix, Re.Stock promises to replenish merchandise on a weekly basis, making this store a definite drop-by if you’re ever in the area. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot Oprah sifting through the racks some day. — Chai Lee
