Oh, don’t fret, the end of the world is hardly near. That's just the first sign of Borders’ 15-year lease on Michigan Avenue coming to an end in January 2011—and everyone in town knows that this marquee storefront will be turned into an enormous TopShop some time next spring. Before the British fast-fashion retailer plasters its plywood on the three-level building and gives it a much-needed $10 million makeover, the beleaguered American bookseller needs to completely empty out its inventory. So if you've always wanted that Danielle Steele novel or that Josh Grobin Christmas album, now's the time to stop by.
