Not to be outdone by Wal-Mart, Tar-jay is reportedly “sniffing around everywhere from Hyde Park up to Lincoln Park” for their version of smaller-scale urban stores. Deals are supposedly in the final stages for a Target State Street in the former Carson Pirie Scott store at 1 South State, a Chicago landmark designed by architect Louis Sullivan. [Chicago Sun-Times]
