RIVER NORTH—After what seemed like a lifetime, Grahamwich finally opened its doors this week. Graham Elliot gave Eater an exclusive video tour the day before opening and clued us in on some upcoming projects, including a Grahamburger that's in the works.
LAKEVIEW —While it won't open until February or March, we snagged some details and a few preliminary pix of the forthcoming Fishbar, the second project from DMK Burger Bar owners Michael Kornick and David Morton.
RIVER NORTH—A little chef shakeup took place at Epic, one of Esquire's top 20 best new restaurants of 2010. Opening exec chef Stephen Wambach told us he was out and currently loving life in Panama. Taking his place is former N9NE Steakhouse corporate chef Michael Shrader, who will introduce new menus the first week of January.
AVONDALE—Urban Belly/Belly Shack owner Bill Kim discovered that someone had called a number of restaurants, including Girl & The Goat and Hot Chocolate, claiming to be him and demanding reservations. When the person didn't get what he wanted he became belligerent and spewed expletives to the people on the other end of the phone. The catch? The calls were placed from Wicker Park spot Schwa.
