Adriano Goldschmied Store Will Shutter on December 26th

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Adriano Goldschmied at 48 East Walton has confirmed they are closing
on December 26th. When we went to talk in person with the AG management representatives they were reluctant to tell us if they were looking for another location in Chicago or if AG Jeans would cease to exist in the 312. They did tell us though, there would not be any type of markdown on the merchandise—it will be distributed to their other locations.

When we called, we spoke with a sales woman at the store she had told us that this is a corporate decision and thinks "[AG] just isn't that lucrative anymore." She explained that opening another location in Chicago is unlikely right now.

Other AG employees were unsure what to tell customers to do if they'd wish to exchange or return items after the closure. With such uncertainty, we tried to contact their headquarters in South Gate, California but to no avail.

So if you missed the the store's last living days and want to return your AG Jeans, our best guess is to drive to the next closest store in Saint Louis, Missouri or contact Adriano Goldschmied's corporate offices: phone: 323-325-9832 or email:customerservice@shop.agjeans.com. — Jared Hatch
