WEST LOOP—Even though Nellcôte won't be ready to open for a number of weeks, the team behind that spot and Old Town Social are readying plans for a swank, romantic Champagne salon.

GOLD COAST—After much spotlight attention, Ian Schrager and Jean-Georges Vongerichten officially cut the ribbon on Tuesday outside the Public Hotel, home of the revamped Pump Room restaurant.

EVANSTON—After going through a string of chefs, Pensiero Ristorante hopes to get a slam dunk with controversial yet talented chef Brandon Baltzley.

RIVER NORTH—They already have Duchamp, Bangers & Lace and the forthcoming The Anthem, but that hasn't stopped this crew from grabbing a free-standing building on Hubbard for a cool bar-driven project in early 2012.
