Vert Couture Was an Incredible Step in the Progress of Sustainability and Ethics of Fashion

Fashion Focus' Vert Couture Eco-Fashion Show and Benefit was one of the most well-attended and highly anticipated events of Fashion Focus 2011. The event featured the S/S 2012 collections of eight of Chicago’s most talented designers who utilize renewable and sustainable fabrics and vintage materials.The show was produced by Chicago-based Conscious TV & Culture 22.

Starting off the show, Owners of Conscious Planet Media, Michael Alexander and Bianca Alexander introduced The City of Chicago's Chief of Sustainability, Karen Weigert, followed by a modern dance performance by Kelly Kane & Co. featuring Brightly Twisted.

Showing designers included Richard Dayhoff, Heart, Lauren Lein, Dollparts, Brenda Abdullah, Rosina Mae, Silk Utopia and Victoria Larkin. Proceeds from the show went to the Keep Chicago Beautiful Organization.
