INSANITY: This Will be a Walgreens That Has a Sushi Bar and Nail Salon

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This space which was previously Loehmann's and then a pop-up warehouse-y suit store by Hart Schnaffer Marx is now under construction to become a Walgreens. We just learned this one however, will have a sushi bar, a nail salon, a wine bar, and a hair salon inside of it and be the one of the fanciest Walgreens in the city.

This will be the second time Walgreens has occupied space on this lot at this intersection with the first being before the infamous Joffrey Tower was built. The two-story space measures 27,400 square feet and it's features will take cues from the Wall Street Duane Reade. The new fabulous Walgreens is under construction right now and is scheduled to open on January 7th or 9th.
