Dr. Martens has opened on Milwaukee in Wicker Park. The space is a deep burgundy comfort shoe paradise with extra high ceilings, built-in light boxes and a patio that will be open in springtime. At the time we popped in for a visit, a Brunswick pool table was being used as a display for the current collection and we were assured there would be more locally sourced fixtures on the way. Around the shop you'll find customized of one-off styles characterizing Chicago music acts such as Wilco, Andrew Bird and Liz Phair.
