Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Maybe you've heard of The Apareció Foundation- their mission is to provide mentoring, academic support, and scholarship programs for high-potential, low-income women in Chicago Public High Schools. Their latest philanthropic project is called Hasana which sells luxury wearables inspired by the Caribbean. 100% of the proceeds from the collection go toward the goals of The Apareció Foundation.
Tonight, at 7PM in the lobby of theW City Center on Adams, stylist Eric Himmel and socialite Candace Jordan will host a fundraising event to benefit Hasana. A live UStream will happen simultaneously with Hasana's sister event in New York. DJs Sadie Woods and Megan Taylor will be there along with guest bloggers.
