The scene at Filenes Basement in the final two days of it's presence on Michigan Avenue is chaos. You have until the end of the day tomorrow, Thursday, December 29 to experience it yourself and maybe find something worth wearing. There are still fixtures, furniture, mannequins for sale as well as the unusually high stock of mens suiting and women's shoes, and everything for children. At the end of our journey through the scattered aisles, we saw a small pup inside of a backpack. Our feelings for the demise of "The Basement" are echoed in this puppy's eyes and we now have affirmation we're not the only ones saddened by Filenes closure.
