With all the trade shows, showrooms, in and around the Merchandise Mart, we thought there was bound to be some hanky panky somewhere there. So we went in and had a lengthy discussion with the building's security guards and the employees at Argo Tea on the ground level.
Our findings: Occasionally security will get complaints of "lookers" in the first floor bathroom by Argo Tea and Starbucks and second floor bathroom in the food court.
The Sargent we spoke with says the restrooms are usually busiest between 7AM and 8:30AM and then again after 6PM referencing a website that specializes in these things. And the girls who we talked with at Argo continuously check the Missed Connections section on Craigslist trying to piece together the puzzle of making restroom romance.
From the knowledge we've obtained from this adventure, the most dramatic instance where someone had been arrested in the first floor bathroom at the Merchandise Mart in recent years was a Priest.
