Last week we brought to your attention the steel work outside of Tods on Oak Street. Well, yesterday we saw the flatbed truck, hydraulic lift and burly construction workers installing the new awning and we've gotta say its not what we were expecting- but we like it.
As explained to us last week by the building management, the awning would not protrude over the sidewalk and hang flush to the facade of the building. When we saw the workers erect the awning it looked to extend over the sidewalk- and we got confused with the management's explanation. Alas, the storefront is set back a few feet from the sidewalk, so the edge of the awning is technically flush to the facade of the building. Tods is opening March 24th with a grand opening event scheduled for April 14.
