In mid-March, construction began on the Hhgregg location in Joliet which is one of many former Circuit City stores that Hhgregg will be inhabiting. The Indianapolis-based retailer will commence in the take-over of the Chicago area electronics market starting with the Joliet Location. This 21,654-square-foot Hhgregg was designed by Herschman Architects and is located at 3150 Tonti Drive near the Louis-Joliet Mall. The store is scheduled for completion by mid June. Word on the street is that Hhgregg will be building out several vacant Borders Books and Music stores, Wickes Furniture stores and Linens ‘n Things starting this summer.
