Recently opened, Shear Conviction in West Town is a trendy salon in the front and photo studio in the back. The prison-esque theme carries through from start to finish with this place - Walking in, you can get your hair cut by one of the four stylists, Sadie, Brittany, Shane or Johnny in a rebellious cut and color. After you get you're done, you go to the back and get a free mug shot in their photo studio.
Being opened two weeks ago, photographer, Nina Marie who shoots all her clients with a Nikon D300 says business couldn't be better. Even if you don't feel like getting your hair done, you can just have a photo session. As a grand opening special Shear Conviction and Nina Marie's photo company, Chicago Paparazzi are offering 25% off haircuts and photo shoot sessions until April 30th. When you purchase any salon service after the grand opening promotion, receive $50 toward any photo shoot. Prices start at $100 for a thirty minute session and increase $50 every thirty minutes.
Haircare brands Shear Conviction carries are Biomega, Aquage, and Moroccanoil while staff make-up artists are Mandy, Zee, and Nina Marie herself. In addition to make-up, body waxing is also available - jeeze, the only thing missing from this place is the Chicago-style beat-down.
