Speaking of the development on Diversey Parkway, our big sister, Eater, tells us about State Farm's next door neighbor, Trader Joe's:

While South Loopers have to wait until the fall for a Trader Joe's to open there, Lakeview and Lincoln Park residents can soon stop holding their breath. We got word that the specialty grocer is scheduled to open its doors on May 6.

The approximately 15,000 square-foot store is right on the border between Lincoln Park and Lakeview. The new-construction building, which stands near the new Urban Outfitters, will have three floors—the top two (including an open rooftop) will have 100 parking spaces exclusive to Trader Joe's.

Inside the store, artwork will be specific to the neighborhood and sports memorabilia from the Chicago Bulls, University of Illinois and DePaul University, hangs around the store. And wood panels were built on an outside wall to allow ivy to grow up the wall over the years. Welcome to the neighborhood.
