On April 30th the owner of beloved Ukrainian Village eyeglasses store Labrabbit Optics, Coyote DeGroot, will be hosting a Spring Preview party from 6pm to 10pm. The event will highlight the addition of high fashion eyewear brand Illesteva. Labrabbit Optics will be the first inland American retailer to carry Illesteva. Previously only stores located in the coastal states of New York and California carried the eyewear line. Business partners Daniel Silberman and Jus Ske founded Illesteva in 2009. The duo designs the glasses themselves, which are handmade in Germany and Italy. Illesteva’s use of high-quality materials - including titanium, bamboo, and natural buffalo horn - continues to win the company legions of influential fans. Vogue, In Style, Nylon, and Elle magazines have all featured the characteristically round spectacles. Everyone from “It Girl” Alexa Chung to pop superstar Beyonce Knowles have been spotted in Illesteva, and now Midwesterners have their chance to get in on the fun thanks to Labrabbit Optics.-Amy Creyer
