HYDE PARK—The Museum of Science & Industry's uber-green, prefab Smart Home exhibit is set to reopen on April 22nd (Earth Day, and this year the museum is bringing on two special guests to design the interior: Tech blog Gizmodo and Andersonville antique shop Scout.

LINCOLN PARK—A few years ago, the intersection of Diversey and Lakewood was home to a Hostess Wonder Bread factory and a candy factory. Now, those buildings are gone and construction is moving forward on a couple of modern townhouse and condo developments.

RIVER NORTH—The 14th-floor penthouse of Contemporaine at Grand and Wells came back on the market this week. The unit comes with a 3,000-square-foot outdoor Japanese garden, complete with a small pond and waterfall.

LAKEVIEW—Another home with some serious amenities: This 10,000-square-foot mansion with a half-court basketball court in the basement hit the market earlier this week. The price? $4.49 million.
