Weekend Plans: Intuit's Annual Closet Clearance Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We're always on the lookout for the underdog, the forgotten and unrepresented - from art and objects to clothing and accessories. This coming Saturday you can rummage through an exceptional assortment of said clothing and accessories which has been donated to The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art by Intuit supporters. The sale, in its second year is called the Closet Clearance Sale and is a flash-in-the-pan extravaganza which has hats, shoes, tops, bottoms, dresses, purses and jewelry.

Some of the Designer names included in this years sale are Blue Fish, Dries Van Noten, Burberry, Nick Cave and Issey Miyake. Although the sale is only women's clothing we can assure you the selection is high-end, low end, and hipster yard sale-chic so some guys may be able to get away with wearing some of the inventory. Heather Holbus from the department of development at the intuit tells us that many boxes were shipped from far far away to make it to the sale and some items which came with price tags still on them were priced as high as one thousand dollars. But don't you worry- like the inventory at the Intuit store, everything is reasonably priced from five dollars to one hundred dollars. All proceeds from this second annual public Closet Clearance Sale benefit the Intuit and remaining items will be given to various women's organizations.
