New Site Allows a Diplomatic Approach to Bridesmaid Dress Shopping

We heard about this site a few weeks ago and we think its a really, really good idea. For anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding you know its always stressful keeping everyone happy. Picking out bridesmaid dresses that compliment the wedding dress and the women wearing them can be tough - especially if your besties are in other cities. Weddington Way is an innovative online shop for the perfect bridesmaid dress. They offer oodles of options and can be narrowed down by price, color, fabric, cut, etc. Brides can create a line-up sheet of their favorite dresses, send the options to their bridesmaids and then the bridesmaids can anonymously vote for their favorite pick.

The concept was established last year in May by Ilana Stern and Benu Lahiry because they felt the need for the fashionable community that was being under utilized. The idea was to combine the ease and efficiency of online shopping with the experience of a personal shopper. After the bride creates an account online, she makes a brief introductory note about each of her bridesmaids introducing them. After this the bride and her bridesmaids narrow down the perfect dress from a selection of nearly 300 by choosing categories like cut, designer, fabric, and price. Brands include Alfred Sung, After Six, Cynthia Rowley, Lela Rose, and Coren Moore among others. Later this week, they are launching the exclusive point of sale for New York-based Thread. After choosing the dresses, bridesmaids can anonymously vote which dress works the best thus cutting down on spur-of-the-moment emotions of shopping for the perfect dress. Shipping options vary but dresses typically take up to fourteen weeks because each dress is custom fit.
