Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
It's barely springtime here in Chicago, but the Fort Wayne, Indiana-based Vera Bradley crew is already hard at work on their latest fall/winter 2011 campaign. We recently caught up with them at the front steps of the Art Institute of Chicago, taking advantage of one of the rare balmy days in the city this season. Many of the crew members, armed with this season's bright paisley handbags in vibrant hues, waited patiently as their model struck the perfect pose for the cover shot of the catalog. "Chicago is the perfect location for Vera Bradley's catalog shoot, as the new winter colors embody the season's fashion and fun," said a Vera Bradley rep. "The Art Institute, the wonderful parks, and Navy Pier are all fabulous places to spend time with girlfriends and garner fashion inspiration." We were not permitted to snap any pics of the new collection (sorry folks), so you’ll just have to wait till September to find out. We can tell you this: fashion with a cause will be a large part of the new campaign, as the catalog will introduce Vera Bradley's newest breast cancer awareness design.
