In the latest development in our Topshop Watch 2011, early this morning in a top-secret location at the tippy-top of a downtown high-rise, we got a sneak peek of the latest unreleased lines from Topshop and Topman. Yes, that's right, we were the first to see, touch, and smell samples of the merchandise that will be sold in the Chicago Topshop/Topman store.

We feel that one of the most popular lines in Chicago will be 'Thrift' which mixes elements of the laid back 60s with a neater finish from the 40s post-war Britain. Dresses are ladylike in pretty florals and ditsy prints appearing in a classic tea dress or drop waist shift shape and look newest in mid-calf length. Sometimes pleated with splashes of color or slitted on the side. Contrasting paneling works well for a additional interest while a soft feminine shape remains.
