Helsinki-based Marimekko has claimed their own space within North and Clybourn Crate & Barrel. To celebrate the launch of the latest trends, spokespersons flew in from Finland and New York. An arts and crafts table was set up for shoppers to create accessories from an array of remnant fabrics. Marimekko has always had the idea of near-zero waste built into their design philosophy and now customers can sit at the craft table and partake in the Marimekko way of life. As we learned this morning, mixing and matching the bold colored prints is the best part about the complimentary designs.
Since their relationship with Crate & Barrel began in the mid-1960s,
Marimekko has proven success with the unlimited versatility of their
products. At each Crate & Barrel location, bath, bedding, fabrics, tableware, and kitchen textiles are available in original and modern prints, but only at the North and Clybourn store can you get all of the available Marimekko options. - Shelby Steiner
