Nine West on Michigan Ave Reincarnates in to Stuart Weitzman

We were slightly puzzled when Stuart Weitzman vacated their highly sought-after street-level space at 900 N. Michigan Ave and handed the lease over to Michael Kors back in 2009. After hiding out at a small storefront inside the Shops at North Bridge mall for the past couple of years, the fancy shoe designer is now aiming for a splashy comeback with a new location on the boulevard, at 701 North Michigan Avenue. If this space looks familiar, that’s because it was most recently occupied by Nine West, the mass market shoe-and-accessory company that—surprise!—shares the same New York-based Jones Group parental ownership as Stuart Weitzman. We haven’t heard of a solid opening date yet, however, we're sure that it will open just in time to showcase the new Fall/Winter collection.
