Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Meanwhile in Bucktown, we were struck for a second when we saw last week that p.45’s fall 2011 buy was full of fantastic choices - this buy has a strong focus on prints and patterns leading into next year. Starting with Athe Vanessa Bruno whose garments have a wispy prairie feel with delicate floral prints. Then moving through the racks to Rachel Comey who explains that her "prints act like textures." Rachel's season employs a range of prints from romantic dahlia buds to computer generated abstractions. Finally, the third best-buy at p.45 is Bensoni's new looks which pull inspiration from costume-inspired forms saturated in heavy plaids and faux snake skin. The gals at shop tell us (with expert knowledge) the patterns and prints look best if mixed together for a strong message not for the faint at heart.
