This week, a foodie flashmob (aka) The Dinner in White (aka) a version of Diner en Blanc laid out white sheets and white blankets on the south side of the North Ave Beach peninsula and had a gay ole time... wearing all white. Diner en Blanc is a quasi-planned dinner picnic which started a few people in 1988 in a public park in Paris and has since grown to over 10,000 participants since. The event now has cute little off-shoots in cities elsewhere - this week was Chicago's. The Chicago event was not directly affiliated with the Paris event but ours did draw over 100 people and one dog.
