Last Friday morning, Carlson Kressley kicked off In-Fashion: The Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival presented by MasterCard with an outdoor media appearance at Pioneer Court. Kressley arrived in the Mercedes Benz Fashion Force Vehicle—a 2012 CLS63 AMG four-door couple. The Fashion Force Vehicle’s paint job is reminiscent of a police car. Kressley mingled with VIP shoppers and spoke with us regarding tips on beauty, fashion, culinary arts, lifestyles, culture in a “Tour of Trends,” and technology.
“Shopping should be called merchantainment. Shopping in this society has evolved into entertainment, pleasure, sampling what you can afford to buy, and educating yourself on trends and discovering what things you really want to let into your lifestyle,” says Kressley.
Concluding the morning kick-off event at Pioneer Court, Kressley and a few VIPs banqueted at Nordstrom Café for a pre-shopping breakfast. Carson and fellow industry professionals conversed about relevant fashion trends and helpful beauty tips. “ It’s about buying key pieces and layering.
One way is to buy a new pair of jeans for a fitting silhouette and invest in a great winter coat.”
Kressley adds how he has incorporated fall trends into his “contemporary Missy Field” Fall 2012 collection: dressy fabrications with beautiful and sexy silhouettes are essential. Vivid hues such as fuchsia, bright purple, and burnt orange are three of many popular colors for this upcoming fall fad. -Braylen Barr
