Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
It just came to our attention that this coming November one of our favorite shops of the Racked 38, Haberdash will unveil a new retail concept focused strictly on footwear and accessories. Also included in this concept will be barber services like a close shave and a haircut. The new shop will take residence in the soon vacated Italian table top shop, Alessi located in the Medinah Temple Building's Tree Studios at Grand and State.
Taking cue from the truthful definition of "haberdash" the new shop will carry every day items from pens to pocketknives to tech accessories. The curated collection will align perfectly with the authentic, heritage looks that Haberdash has become known for.
Haberdash EDC is slated to have an interior accessorized by Andersonville's Brimfield, although details are still being finalized. Haberdash EDC will also feature premium services as aforementioned will include a haircut and a shave and may potentially introduce a shoe shine at a later time.
