Five Below Isn't Done Invading Chicagoland Just Yet

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

After one of the largest barrage of openings we've seen, discount chain store, Five Below is back at it again. The first time we heard about their master plan of opening 75 stores in the Chicagoland area we scoffed. The second time they opened ten on the same day, then five more on the same day. Now, tomorrow, they're opening one more in Kennedy Plaza on Belmont which puts them on their way to that lofty goal of 75 Chicagoland shops. The doors open at 10AM, with freebies and giveaways throughout the weekend, including one $100 shopping spree and free Five Below T-shirts with purchase for the first 300 customers.
