Inspired by a photo of her mother circa 1979 wearing a turtleneck & high-waisted trousers, New York based designer Mandy Coon achieved a sophisticated, yet high impact look for her fall 2011 collection. Her python embossed leather pencil skirt, silk print turtleneck gown & fur-lined wool asymmetrical coat embody her edgy, dark drama, and exude toughness, thanks to materials like leather and fur. This is one of the designers you can now find at Lissa Boutique in River North. As we talked with Owner, Lissa Shipley earlier today about her fresh shipment, she describes Coon's fall garments as architecturally refined and streamlined. This is the third season Lissa has carried Mandy Coon for three years straight which only instills her knack for finding emerging talents.
