LAKEVIEW—What came as somewhat of a shock, the owners of Leo's Coney Island sent out a message on Wednesday saying they would be closing that day despite having a pretty loyal following.

LOOP—Call it the newest chapter in Chicago's cupcake wars: New York's Magnolia Bakery will finally open its doors on Oct. 1 in Block 37.

LINCOLN PARK—Less than two months after closing Kith & Kin and turning it into Webster Street Cafe, the Taleb brothers closed their casual neighborhood spot saying they want to focus on their corporate and delivery business.

BUCKTOWNLillie's Q chef/owner Charlie McKenna said he and his partners are looking to open another location of their hot BBQ joint and will be taking their bottled sauces to retail, starting in October at Williams-Sonoma.
