CHINATOWN—Adding to his stable of other critically acclaimed restaurants in the area, the "mayor of Chinatown," Tony Hu, just opened Lao Hunan.

EDGEWATER—Citing rising food costs, the popular Flourish Bakery & Cafe will shutter this Sunday, Sept. 11.

EVANSTON—Brandon Baltzley (Crux) and Jared Wentworth (Longman & Eagle) will team for a pop-up dinner at Pensiero Ristorante on Oct. 17. The menu will be based on Apicius, the earliest-recorded Roman cookbook.
