So we won't bore you with the details of all the speeches and fanfare that were made a spectacle at the State and Randolph Walgreens opening last evening - but we feel like we can give you the general re-cap.
Gov Quinn - Said when he was a child Walgreens did not sell sushi. Then something to the effect of jobs, jobs, jobs.
Rahm Emanuel - In his speech said that Walgreens was founded in 1907 [According to Walgreens website it was founded in 1901]. Then Rham drew parallels to the founder of Walgreens, Charles Walgreen, having a finger chopped off in a machine accident.
John Grant, Vice President of Store Operations - "Not your mommy's Walgreens."
Joe Magnacca, President of Daily Living Products and Solutions - Thanks to the real estate team, the architect. Yay for the Bridge Pharmacy team merchants look boutique, and Mike DiFazzio who was the Director of Merchandising (aka) Merchant Architect.
