RIVER NORTH—After being pushed back for months, Tavernita, the South American- and Spanish-inspired tapas restaurant from chef Ryan Poli and Mercadito Hospitality, finally soft opened this week. Eater got the first look inside.

SOMEWHERE—Check, Please host and master sommelier Alpana Singh announced that she will partner with the team behind Bistronomic to open a wine bar this year and the rumor mill points to River North for its location.
