Yesterday in sunny Naples Florida the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) announced the election of several new leaders in retail to spur efforts helping retailers. Milwaukee native and Northwestern Alum, Gregg Steinhafel, who is now the President and CEO of Target was elected as new chair to the RILA Board.
Recent accomplishments under pervious leadership included a campaign to reform debit card swipe fees, and sales tax collection advantages online-only retailers have. Other new additions to the board include the CEO of Whole Foods and the CEO of Energizer. What agendas this board will push in 2012 have yet to be determined.
