Yo, Indie Designers: Cash Prize at Vile & Valiant

Think you've got what it takes to survive a design competition a la Project Runway? Well, try your hand at this: Vile & Valiant, the new West Town boutique that champions indie designers from across the globe will hold its first ever dress design competition. The first prize will receive a $1000 cash, while the three runners up will receive gift certificates for $150 to Vile & Valiant.

The contest is free to enter and open to up-and-coming designers who have already produced a piece they'd like to enter into the contest. The application asks that you describe the materials used, and the concept you were trying to achieve in a maximum of 300 words total, and can be submitted with up to five photos of the garment. Once you've completed the app, email it here, or drop it off at the store. Entry deadline is December 19, and the top three designs will be featured on public display at Vile & Valiant between January 10 and 19th, 2013. How will the winner be chosen? Well, by public vote, of course. Visitors to the store, random passersby and others who want to participate in the voting can do so. You in?
