This has been a celebratory year for royal families all over the world. Back in the summer, we celebrated the Queen's 60th year on the throne, and now, we can celebrate the Queen of Thailand's birthday...no joke. Golden Triangle, a mecca for all things Asiatic in River North, in collaboration with the Thai Consulate, will host Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's birthday on Oct. 13. There will be classical and angel dance performances, live music courtesy of Thai Music Institute of Illinois, massage giving, finger food eating, an auction and raffle and specially flown in orchids. So, in a word? A BFD (that is "big f***** deal for those that are acronymically challenged). If you're keen to attend, call 312.755.1266 to reserve tix for $35, or $45 at the door. And don't forget to wear something awesome--something the Queen won't feel like she needs to old-school behead you for.
