It's that time of year again. Chicago's fashion week: Fashion Focus 2012! Whoot! We've got a sneak peek into three of the spring/summer 2013 collections that will be walking down the runway--one designer from each show, running October 17-19 at 7:30PM at Millennium Park.

Yesterday we took a peek into what Rachel Frank had cooking with her label, RFD at the Chicago Fashion Incubator. Next is Fashion Takes Flight presented by Beauty 38 Member, Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas and vitaminwater on Thursday, October 18. Today, let's check-in with Chicago-based designer, Shelby Steiner to see what she's bringing to the runway for Fashion Focus 2012.

Recent grad and girl on the go Shelby Steiner brings goodwill by way of fashion. Her autumn / winter collection overwhelmed us drawing inspiration from The Cove, a film about the slaughter of dolphins. Now for the newest evolution of her work in sartorial activism, Shelby was motivated to create her spring/summer 2013 collection after discovering that the last female rhinoceros in a popular South African reserve was poached, for its horns, in 2010. Steiner's collection inspires change through imagery of rhino's skeletal structure and unique silhouettes. -Robin Clement
