Move Over Tented Place Cards!

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Wedding: Whether engaged, dating or single and ready to mingle, it's the event girls spend their waking (well, and dreaming) hours planning. We want to know what's so now for you ladies, so we asked local wedding planning company Estera Events, which approaches the day with the creative eye of an interior designer, to give us deets on current trends for the special day.

Move over tented place cards, there's a new wedding display in town! Estera Events says the typical place card is no longer the go-to. They customize the bride and groom's escort display to fit the design of the wedding and express the style of the happy couple.

The wedding planner has created unique displays, like drawing names with gold paint on real leaves, for a natural and earthy look, and hanging cutout stars with Native American sketches from branches, for a tribal feel.

We're excited to see what they think up next! — Robin Clement
