Just when you thought that the River North furniture district couldn't get any cooler, Minotti Chicago touches down in a partnership with Orange Skin. The highest end Italian furniture brands run rampant in River North, including Cassina, Cappellini, Poltrona Frau (the Holy Trinity), Erba, B&B Italia, Moroso and Molteni & C. But now, the only one that's been devoid of big representation arrives in grand Italian style.
The new Minotti showroom has a familiar address at 223 W Erie, but is actually a freestanding boutique on a different floor of the Orange Skin building. It is only the third monobrand Minotti boutique in the country after New York and L.A., and is a full service showroom, offering "space planning and interior design, in addition to, product rental for film and advertising." The ~2700 square foot showroom will feature signature wood paneled walls and will have the full lineup of the 2012 Collection, right in time for holiday planning/shopping. Expect doors to open by the end of this week.
