Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
A longtime staple of the Bucktown fashion scene, Michelle Tan boutique will be closing its doors on Nov. 25.
She hints that she wants to "find a new neighborhood and fill it with style, edginess and individuality," while promising a "much larger web presence." There's no word of when she plans to reopen elsewhere, but a travesty, indeed. She does, however, want to go out with a bang, and is having a moving/closing sale.
All of the clothing merch in the store until the 25th is 10% off, and all of the handbags are 20% off. One thing's for sure--Michelle Tan may be closing her doors, but when she decides to establish another brick and mortar shop, she'll certainly have loyal and happy customers. You'll also be able to catch her at the Time Out Shopping Awards on Nov. 29, and at the One-of-a-Kind show if you need your MT fix.
