The British Are Coming? Again

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It seems as though the British have invaded Chicago. Last year, Ted Baker set up shop on Rush Street, last month Burberry opened its US flagship on the Michigan Avenue, and now Reiss, the British clothing company opened a shop-in-shop in Bloomingdale's at the 900 Shops. Reiss, the swanky British brand that offers those impossibly swanky pieces at affordable prices counts the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton as a customer (she wore a swanky little Reiss bandage dress when she met the First Lady). Bloomingdale's Y.E.S. department is the only place that carries Reiss in the entire Midwest and is open today, so be sure to check it out. —Tim Schroeder
