We love the holidays for the most superficial of reasons: we get to look chic and sparkly practically every day, merrily attending holiday party after party dressed to celebrate. However, one of the things we don't enjoy, especially with the unpredictability of Chicago weather, is the fact that our hot Jimmy Choos and exotic Charlotte Olympias get banged up in the process. It is not a good look to go about tip toe-ing through the snow, sleet and ice, in the cold, which is why we absolutely LOVE a new-ish product to protect our shoes and sanity during this season: Grace Carter shoe covers. With Grace, it will no longer be the winter of our [shoe] discontent.
Deborah Haslam, creator and founder of Grace Carter shoe covers, cites ruining myriad pairs of shoes to look cute in inclement weather, as her inspiration for the the product. Akin to Shuella (remember those?), the Grace Carter shoe covers (named for her two children Grace and Carter) are much more versatile. They are made from a breathable water resistant fabrication, and are flexible to accomodate any classic heel silhouette. They come in three types: ballet flats to save your Tory Burch Revas, pointy toe or round toe. The shoe covers have a multi-terrain rubber grip which prevents slipping, and an internal thimble to cover and protect heels heights of two to five inches. They even come in a sexy leopard print if you're one of those brazen, flashy divas. What's more? They're accompanied by a chic travel case and shoe bag so that once you hit your destination, your Loubs are as fresh as the day you bought them and there are no signs of your weather-aiding Grace Carter shoe covers anywhere. You can now purchase the shoe covers at Nordstrom Michigan Avenue.
