As 2012 draws to a close, we're surveying our friends in the fashion industry about the year's biggest news stories and most exciting developments. Yesterday, we looked at the best trends, earlier today we looked at the worst trends, now, let's discuss our favorite personal purchases. Readers, let us know what you think in the comments.
Candace Jordan, blogger and socialite: My top purchase was actually a birthday gift from girlfriends--its the Hermes Isidore horn and matt rough crocodile necklace. I wear it all the time, dressy or casual. It's my favorite gift of 2012!
Suzanne Kopulos, editor and style director of Garmental: Typically it's something sequins or shiny, but this time it was more about function and fur - vintage of course!
D. Graham Kostic, creative and editorial director of Glossed & Found: An oxblood Top shop skinny suit and an oil painting of seashells and fish from Joan Cusack's summer home in Michigan.
Lynn Okura Bey, editor of Sales Check at Chicago Magazine: Fun new vintage-inspired glasses from Warby Parker.
April Francis, fashion stylist:Dolly Dolly from Ikram.
Amalie Drury, editor of Pure Wow: My wedding dress! It was a short, white caftan-style cocktail dress with turquoise and rhinestone beading from Marchesa's 2012 resort collection. My mom bought it for me.
Sissy Spastik, performer: My favorite purchase of 2012 were these two handmade coats made by JoJo Baby. One is made of platinum/neon hair extensions and the other is made of vintage recycled prom dresses.
Emma Arnold, creator of Tres Awesome: Very happy with a Missoni robe I bought at the Gilt City Warehouse sale. See the update at 11:45AM in our Liveblog.
Eric Himel, fashion stylist: Ralph Lauren motorcycle pants.
Bridget Halanski, director of runway at Factor Women: It's a tossup between my black classic Christian Louboutin pumps or my Marc Jacobs Sneaker Wedges!
