Sifu Design Studio Shutters in Andersonville, Relocating Soon

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

At the end of this month, only a year after remodeling their SoFo storefront in Andersonville, Sifu Design Studio will be closing. Right now, everything in the shop is 25% off until December 24th, at which time Owner, Lisa Whiting will be packing up and moving to a larger space on Broadway between Granville and Thorndale.

Lisa's new home will be right next to Lickity Split custard shop and a brand new Walgreens directly across from the Hancock Fabrics store. We know, it seems like great synergy to have a shop like Sifu across the street from Hancock Fabrics, right? Well, be it known that in keeping with the gentrification of the neighborhood, Hancock is being replaced by a bank. So we ask Lisa if she'll be carrying some cool items to fill that void. "We're thinking some of the business will come to see us at our new store, so it makes sense to sell specialty fabrics, but we'll see how it goes."

The new and improved Sifu Design Studio softly opens around Jan 7 but the real party doesn't happen until Jan 25. The party goes down then, for sure--on the 25th which is Lisa's 34th birthday, Sifu's 2 year anniversary and National Cosby Sweater Day.
